Thinking and communicating and clarity and precision

"I do not so easily think in words. After being hard at work, having arrived at results that are perfectly clear, I have to translate my thoughts in a language that does not run evenly with them." Francis Galton

During one instance in Chemistry class my lab group and I had to think and communicate with clarity and precision. During this lab, which consisted of Leslie, Jacob, Amie, and I, we set up an experiment to record the amount of gas that was produced while mixing hydrochloric acid and five metals, such as zinc and copper etc. Because this experiment required lots of work, we had to conduct this experiment quickly and efficiently in order to finish it before the end of class. This required lots of thinking and communication for gathering the materials and setting up the experiment, but mostly required the most amount of communication when reading the recordings off of the burrete. During the experiment, one person would keep track of the time and say when each recording of the amount of gas produced should be made, which then the recorder should give his/her's closest estimate of the recording to two decimal places, while the tracker had to write this number down. While the final person had to be sure that the experiment was working flawlessly with no gas escaping from the stopper and tube. This therefore required accurate clarity and precision to collect the data in a consistent manner in order to make our results in uniform. The following diagrams show an example of the reaction made and how much gas was produced over the given amount of seconds.

After created these tables, we then had to graph these recordings. The following picture

As a group, we needed to collaborate and think in precise measures to create our group wiki for our experiment. This wiki was designed to establish our experiment and was created by each group member collaborating our accurate and precise data measurements to create our tables, diagrams, and work together to write up our lab report.
